Midwife – Nursing Staff

Eva Mourtzi is a graduate midwife from the Department of Midwifery at the University of West Attica and successfully completed her internship at the Regional General Hospital – Maternity Hospital “Elena Venizelou”. She is a member of the Athens Association of Midwife Scientists and has held a professional midwifery license since 2015. During her practice, Ms. Mourtzi gained experience in conducting deliveries, providing counseling to pregnant women and new mothers, as well as in neonatal care in the Intensive Care Unit. Ms. Mourtzi is certified in phlebotomy and in performing other clinical procedures, such as taking medical history, prescribing, body fat measurement, measuring height, weight, and basal metabolic rate.

In close collaboration with Dr. Stefanos Papadopoulos, Ms. Mourtzi monitors all women during their pregnancy, providing personalized care and counseling for their prenatal preparation. This monitoring includes preparing the couple with general advice on infant care after birth, as well as psychological and practical support for the expectant mother. Subsequently, during the hospital stay, she visits the couple and offers advice on breastfeeding, feeding, and infant care. With love for the new mother and new life, she provides – upon request – additional help and counseling with home visits.

Ms. Mourtzi is also completing her postgraduate studies in the field of Health and Social Care Services Management and Administration at the Department of Business Administration of the University of West Attica. At the same time, as part of her professional and academic career, Ms. Mourtzi continues to attend lectures and seminars, constantly developing her knowledge and skills.

In 2018, she presented her Research Thesis titled: “Parenting Preparation Classes and the Appearance of Postpartum Depressive Symptomatology” at the 14th Panhellenic Conference of Midwives (October 4-7, 2018, Athens)
